CONDITIONS OF SALE
ITEM DESCRIPTIONS: Descriptions given are truthful and as accurate as possible. Photographs are of the actual item for sale, unless otherwise stated. All items are sold as shown. If further information about any item is required by the buyer, details should be requested before bidding.
NON-RETURN POLICY: Items of computer software are checked as working before listing and are not returnable, unless otherwise stated. I reluctantly add this condition as older computer software is too easily copied (and returned for refund). It is the responsability of the buyer to check suitability and compatibility of software with their computer before bidding.
OEM items are indicated in the listing details and will be posted with a suitable nominal item of hardware to comply with the conditions and policies of eBay and other relevant parties.
PAYMENT: Payment by cheque or postal order is preferred from UK buyers as Paypal fees are high on lower priced items. Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to John Thomson. Paypal is welcome from overseas buyers and, more reluctantly, where eBay have imposed Paypal as the sole method of payment for certain categories, such as computer software.
POSTAGE: The buyer is responsible for all postage and packaging costs. (Postage costs are not just the cost of the stamps; they include wrapping materials, transport costs to a local Post Office, (so a Certificate of Postage may be obtained), and Paypal fees (so long as their fees are applied to eBay postage costs). Listed postage costs per item are fixed: I do not offer reductions for multiple purchases as items cannot always be combined in one package. As the seller will undertake postage on behalf of the buyer, but I accept no responsibility for items damaged or lost in transit, other than to provide proof of postage in the event of a claim. I do not renegotiate postage costs after the auction has closed.
DELIVERY TIMES: I am not a business so please do not expect next day delivery. I am registered disabled and rely on others to post the items I sell. I specify posting within three working days of receiving payment, after that postage time is in the hands of the Post Office. Collection in person is not an acceptable option for security reasons, unless specifically indicated in auction terms.
