WOWSERS! Here we have a nicely
illustrated selection of musical devices,
large
and small. I have always been interested
in these older music
boxes which play either replacable cylinders
with all those little pins or the perforated
metal discs, as well as early
gramophones -- I still have a couple stashed away downstairs!
I sold many of them when Evelio and I had our antiques shop open MANY years ago.
This would be an awesome reference source
for items to include in your personal computer interactive relational
database of these kewl apparatus, both
in illustrative full
color photographs as well as in textual
description.
This extremely well illustrated reference
of importance in the history of mechanical music devices is a
MUST
HAVE for that class
project, for the resource library of a music collector / shop owner / appraiser / museum curator / student
or teacher researching the specialized
subject, the makers / formats -- flee
marketeer / yard sale hound / country / estate auction goer -- surprisingly, some of these rare items may still
be found at any of those venues and you will then know exactly
what you are looking at. The perfect addition to your own personal
mechanical music and antique reference library -- or as a gift for a friend. An import in
splendid condition.
