About this AWESOME book -- from the inside front dust jacket flap

Personal Observations -- WOWSERS! -- here is an EXTREMELY classical / exhaustive work on world ceramics -- Volume I treats the wares designated in the Contents, above, covering millennia -- chock full of vintage black and white photographs / color plates [on thicker glossy paper stock, no printing on back] -- this copy is from the third printing, the first of which was available only a year earlier, thus attesting to its worldwide popularity -- in the back we find a four - part fold out map showing Near Eastern / Chinese kiln sites. I hope to offer its companion Volume II with this small batch this evening

I find no rubbing on the usually expected cover extremities, having been well protected by the dust jacket after some sixty - four dreary dull wet blustery frigid New Jersey autumns -- tight binding, immaculate inside -- olde gold embossing still bright and fresh -- pages are of a quality high rag content paper and appear slightly off white under my fluorescent desk lamp -- the dust jacket does have some relatively minor tears along the top / bottom margins / spine folds, repaired from the inside where possible, nothing to write home about. An awesome find to add to your personal world ceramic history reference library -- or as a gift for a friend
